TDP-BJP combine won 35 Seats. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) bagged 32 whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won only 3 wards.
As per the reports, TDP leaders have credited the victory to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his work in Kakinada.
After the humiliating defeat in recent Nandyal bypolls, this is considered a major setback for the opposition party YSR Congress which has bagged only 8 divisions.
The ruling Telugu Desam Party made astrong comeback after 30 years in Kakinada Municipal Corporation election by bagging 27 divisions out of the 48.
TDP candidate SeshuKumari won with lowest majority of 20 votes from 38th Division.
As per the reports, district BJP President Mala Kondayya has lost from 9th Division
TDP Candidate Hemalatha won with the highest margin of 1433 votes in 37th Division.
Counting is completed in 42 Divisions
According to the reports, 14 tables have been set up for counting of votes in 12 rounds.
BJP is leading in 5, 36, 41 divisions.
As per the rends, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is leading in 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 34, 35, 37, 40 divisions.
The YSRC contested from all the 48 divisions but faced rebel trouble in at least half of them.
The TDP contested 39 divisions leaving nine to its alliance partner BJP.
As per the trends, the TDP-BJP alliance won 24 divisions and is leading in 5 whereas the YSRC has won 5 and leading in 2.

New Delhi: The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday took reigns of Kakinada Corporation after 30 years by winning 27 divisions out of the 48. Counting of votes for the Kakinada Municipal Corporation (KMC) Election began at 8 AM at Rangaraya Medical College. About 65 per cent turnout was recorded when the civic body underwent to polls on August 29. Kakinada, which is considered as one of the Smart Cities in country and went to polls after a gap of seven years. Of the total 50 divisions in the KMC, polls were conducted in 48 only while the remaining were stayed by a court order. In all 241 candidates were in the fray.
