Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM Modi`s initiative `Pariksha Pe Charcha` focuses on providing support to students in beating exam stress while equipping teachers and parents with strategies to manage exam-related pressure effectively.
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students gearing up for various board exams in the seventh edition of his highly popular 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' (PPC 2024) initiative on Monday. During his interaction, PM Modi told students to practise hard to become confident. "The more you practice, the more confident you become. No matter how deep the water is, the one who knows how to swim will sail through. In the same way, no matter how difficult the question paper is, if you have practised well, you will perform well. Stop paying attention to who is doing what around you. Keep your 'Focus on YOU'. What you are, what you do, and what you practice, are what will decide your future,'': PM Modi told students at the 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' 2024 event in Delhi.
Ahead of the PPC, the Prime Minister inspected an exhibition at the Bharat Mandapam. “I had the fortune of inspecting an exhibition by students who worked on marvellous projects in various sectors including the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. I must congratulate the students and teachers for putting up such a brilliant exhibition and for letting me understand what the new generation thinks,” the PM said during his interaction with students.
The PM also congratulated teachers and students for the “brilliant exhibition.”
Highlights Of PM Modi's Pariksha Pe Charcha With Students
PM Modi On Reducing Screen Time
PM Modi cautioned the students that reducing screen time is important. ''Using your mobile phones and other gadgets is important but not at the cost of your valuable hours. This has become a problem in most households. Children are often seen engrossed in their phones so much so that they forget the time that is being wasted. Reducing screen time is important not just during study hours but even otherwise. Using the internet has both good and bad effects, and differentiating between the two is crucial. One must understand how to leverage the positive fruits of the internet,'' PM Modi said during the Pariksha pe Charcha event.
PM Modi On Success And Failure
PM Modi told the students to focus on completing the task at hand, and not to think about success or failure. "We must be self-confident and make it a point to complete a task given to us. Do not get bogged down by the thought of success or failure. The outcome is something in the future, but you must try hard for success with confidence. Make decisions in life with confidence and courage. And this will only come with habit."
PM Modi On Healthy Body & Mind
PM Modi told the students that recharging the body is very important. ''A healthy body is synonymous with a healthy mindset. For instance, sunlight is the easiest way to recharge your body. One must also remember to have a healthy sleep schedule.'' The PM went on to add, ''Most of us waste precious time by watching reels or surfing social media while lying down. A sound sleep is absolutely important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I ensure that I have a sound sleep regardless of my schedule for the day.''
PM Modi On Healthy Competition
PM Modi told students that ''If there are no challenges in life, life becomes uninspiring and demotivating. Competition and challenges act as inspirations in life, but competition must be healthy.''
PM Modi On Teacher-Student Bond
During his interaction, the PM highlighted the role of teacher-student bonding, which he said is of ''paramount importance.'' ''To ease the pressure on students, especially during exams, teachers must connect with students and create a positive bond with them right from the beginning to make them feel comfortable. Teachers must bond with students beyond the syllabus as this will boost the confidence of students and help them rectify even the smallest mistakes. The role of teacher-student bonding is of paramount importance. A teacher must uplift the lives of their student,'' PM Modi said.
PM Modi On Having Ambitious Friends
PM Modi told the students that having ambitious friends is a blessing for them. "We must not worry about their achievements but rather work on our progress. We must use the help of our friends to improve on areas where we are weak and walk hand-in-hand in the path of success,'' PM Modi told students.
PM Modi On Comparison Among Children
Giving a piece of advice to parents, the PM urged parents not to compare their children with others. Responding to a question during the Pariksha Pe Charcha event, the PM said comparison is rooted in the minds of students right from their childhood by their families. “I urge parents not to compare your wards with the achievements of others,” he said.
PM Modi On Handling Pressure
During his interaction, the PM told students to mould themselves in such a way that they could handle any kind of pressure. ''We have to mould ourselves to handle any kind of pressure. With willpower, we can achieve success despite pressure…we must gradually implement the art of handling pressure, not hurriedly. Handling pressure is not just the job of the student; the onus also lies on teachers and parents at home to make the process easier,'' the PM said.
