New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was racing ahead of its rivals in Punjab in the initial rounds of counting of votes on Thursday (March 10, 2022).

According to data available on the Election Commission website for 115 seats, Arvind Kejriwal's party was leading in 84. Ferozepur Rural, Kharar, Lehra, Dharamkot and Attari were among the seats where the AAP was leading.


The Congress was ahead in 18 seats, while the SAD was leading in 8. The SAD was leading in Bholath and Tarn Taran, among others. 


The BJP was leading in three seats and the BSP was ahead in one.


An Independent candidate was leading in one seat.


Counting of votes for 117 assembly seats in Punjab began on Thursday morning at 8 AM.
