According to the PTI reports, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee suspended for one day from Parliamentary committee on Waqf for unruly conduct.

According to ANI, Kalyan Banerjee wanted to speak out of turn despite having already addressed the assembly three times. BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay raised objections, leading to a heated exchange between the two, during which sources reported that both used abusive language.

The committee convened on Monday, inviting officials from the Ministry of Minority Affairs to provide oral testimony concerning the bill. This meeting is part of a broader national effort to tackle ongoing issues related to the management of waqf properties. During the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting, discussions grew tense as opposition members challenged the consultative process involved in drafting the legislation.
