JAMMU: The Indian Army on Sunday foiled a major infiltration bid and killed two terrorists in an encounter Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia confirmed the report and said, "The terrorists were killed in Uri sector after alert troops foiled the infiltration bid."


A weapon was recovered from the deceased militant, the official told the reporters.


The security personnel have cordoned off the area completely and have launched a search operation.
