Jammu: The Indian Army foiled the second infiltration bid by terrorists along the Line of Control in Uri sector of Kashmir in a span of two days on Tuesday morning. The encounter left one terrorist dead. The operation is currently underway.

One weapon has been recovered, said the Army. 


The incident took place in general area Zorawar of Uri distict in Jammu and Kashmir.


The Army on Monday shot dead four terrorists in a prolonged encounter in the Uri sector, foiling terrorists' plans to carry out a 2016-like attack on an Army base in 2016.


"An infiltration bid has been eliminated in general area Zorawar of Uri sector. One terrorist has been killed," an Army official said.


The operation is on and further details are awaited, the official added.
