Bangalore: In a shocking incident, a 36-year-old mother flung her seven-year-old differently-abled daughter from the third floor of a building of her residence in Karnataka on Sunday.

The incident took place at JP Nagar area of Jaraganahalli in Bangalore.


According to News Nation reports, the girl, has been identified as Ishika alias Shreya, daughter of Swathi and Kanchan Sarkar.


A resident of the same building claimed that initially they felt that the girl lost her balance and had an accidental fall. When they asked the child's mother that why she ddn't rush her daughter to a hospital, Swathi shouted back at them and said, the child was mentally unstable.


Another resident claimed that Swathi picked up the girl from the floor, went back upstairs and locked herself in before pushing her down the second time. 


This time, the residents claimed that the accused mother changed her clothes and came down to check the body after which local residents rounded her up and tied her to an electric pole.


One of the residents called and informed the nearest police station after which the Puttenahalli police arrived at the spot and took the accused into their custody.


The police has claimed that the accused told them that her daughter was restless and hence she decided to throw her down to calm her.


A case has been registered and an investigation has been launced into the matter.
