Sleeping 8-year-old abducted, raped and murdered by uncle

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, an eight-year-old girl was reportedly abducted, raped and murdered on Wednesday evening.

According to a report in The Hindu, the child, who was sleeping outside her house, was raped and murdered by her maternal uncle.

The incident took place in Chickballapur district of Karnataka.

The victims' parents woke up and realised that the girl was missing. Upon searching, they discovered her body in a bush in the outskirts of the village.

As per a TOI report, the accused was the girl's maternal uncle and that he was allegedly in an inebriated condition when he committed the crime.

He had taken the child to a farmhouse and had allegedly raped her before the murder. 

Police officers recorded the statements of the child’s parents and arrested the 25-year-old accused.
