The first day of the Parliament`s Winter Session witnessed the Congress-led Opposition attacking the Narendra Modi-led NDA government over its decision to ban old currency notes of Rs 500 and 1000, and demanding an immediate rollback.

  • Led by TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, the opposition parties have charged the government for “faulty implementation” of demonetisation — scrapping 500- and 1,000-rupee notes — that has forced people to stand in long queues outside banks and ATMs to exchange old notes and withdraw fresh ones.
