Kallakurichi registered 78.38 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 0.12 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1528539 while the total voter turnout is 1198065. While in 2014, the constituency registered 78.26 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1411854 while the total voter's turnout was 1104862.

K Kamaraj of the AIADMK is the incumbent Member of Parliament from this constituency.


In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, K Kamaraj had managed to get 53,3383 votes to defeat R Manimaran of the DMK who secured 309,876 votes
