Palakkad is one of the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies of Kerala. The seat will go to polls on April 23, in the third of the seven-phased Lok Sabha elections. The results would be declared on May 23.

Palakkad registered 77.68 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 2.29 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1320680 while the total voter turnout is 1025951. While in 2014, the constituency registered 75.39 per cent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1205798 while the total voter's turnout was 909060.


Krishnakumar C of Bharatiya Janata Party, MB Rajesh of Communist Party of India (Marxist), VK Sreekandan of Indian National Congress and Hari Arumbil of Bahujan Samaj Party are a few prominent candidates contesting for general elections 2019 from Palakkad Lok Sabha Constituency of Kerala.



The Palakkad constituency is politically prominent as it has remained a vote-bank of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) since the years of its growth, although the Congress won some of the general elections.
