Dewas: In a repeat of borewell tragedies of past, a four-year-old boy has now fallen in a 33-feet deep open borewell in a village in Madhya Pradesh triggering the authorities to begin rescue operation to save the toddler.

According to ANI, the boy, Roshan, fell into a 33-feet deep borewell in Umaria village in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district on Saturday morning.


Giving details about the rescue operation being conducted to save the toddler, District Magistrate Ashish Singh said, ''a parallel pit is being dug to rescue Roshan,'' adding that the rescue work by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Army was underway in full swing.


The boy is being monitored by a camera and is seen moving. 


He is also being provided oxygen, milk and water, Singh said. Singh assured that chances of the toddler's survival are high.


''The chances of his survival are high,'' he said.
