Mumbai: Maharashtra minister of state for home Ranjit Patil's father Vitthalrao Patil allegedly roughed up a school staff for filming his visit to a school.

The incident is said to have taken place on June 30 in Akola. 


As per the report, Vitthalrao, whose foundation runs a nearby school, visited the school to inspect why parents preferred this school to his own. He was accompanied by a Maharashtra education department official. 


He threatened to derecognise the by the government and even served a notice to the school.


Vitthalrao is the former member of legislative Assembly (MLA) in Akola district. 


Upon realising that he was being filmed by one of the school staff, the former minister got aggressive and purportedly slaps a school employee standing nearby.


A police complaint has been lodged against the former member of legislative Assembly (MLA) in Akola district by school principal Sanjay Athavale.


When contacted, minister Ranjit Patil said, "A police case has been registered. My father has denied abusing or slapping anybody. Police investigation is on and facts will come out soon."
