The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it is a modified version called Funtouch OS. The phone comes with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera having Sony IMX376 sensor. While it has 13-megapixel rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus.

Vivo V5s sports a fingerprint scanner on the rear that can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds.

The phone runs Android Marshmallow-based FuntouchOS which is Vivo's custom user interface.

Other features of the phone include a 5.5-inch 720p display, 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal memory, dual-SIM.
