The godown, located on the sprawling premises of Mittal Industrial Estate on Andheri-Kurla Road, caught fire around 1.15 am, said an official from Mumbai fire department.

Four fire engines and water tankers were pressed into service. The fire was doused after two hours and fire brigade personnel recovered the body of a man, the official said.

"The victim, later identified as Pradeep Vishwakarma, was sleeping inside the godown when it caught fire," he added.

An investigation is on to know what started the fire, the official said.

Fourteen people lost their lives on December 28 - 29, 2017, after a massive blaze engulfed a multi-storey building in Mumbai's Kamala Mills. Post-mortem of bodies later blame asphyxiation for the deaths.
