Roja today tried to enter the Andhra Assembly after the High Court at Hyderabad on Thursday suspended the proceedings of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Roja, the MLA from Nagari in Chittoor district, was suspended for a year during the winter session of the AP Assembly in December last year for allegedly using unparliamentary and abusive language against certain members of the ruling Telugu Desam Party, including Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Meanwhile, the YSR Congress lawmakers led by Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy staged a protest on the Assembly premises after Roja was denied entry.

The YSR Congress members also tried to approach Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan as the ruling party refused to accept the HC order to let Roja enter the Assembly.

However, the Governor was out of the city.

The Andhra government has decided to challenge the single judge's order before a division bench of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad.
