While one snake was spotted in the radiology lab, another was found in an operation theatre, where a surgeon came out running seeing the reptile and refused to operate the patient.

The latest incident of snakes surfacing in the hospital came to fore some 30 days after the death of a toddler after he was bitten by rats in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the government-run hospital in the Guntur town.

The boy was born to a woman named Laxmi on August 17 at Vijayawada.

He was shifted to Guntur for a surgery after developing some health complications and afterwards, placed in the ICU.

Taking strict action, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had ordered suspension of three officials.

Naidu also warned officials that such incidents should not recur.
