Beijing: A woman was killed and 22 others injured when a landslide hit a bus carrying Taiwanese tourists in east China's Fujian Province today.

The bus, carrying 23 people veered off the road and overturned after it was hit by falling rocks and mud on a highway in Yongding District of Longyan City, the local government said in a press release.


It said among the 23 people on board were 21 tourists from Taiwan, a driver and a guide.


All the survivors had been freed from the wreckage through the roof hatch and were sent to the nearest two hospitals in the district, it said.


Rescuers said it was raining heavily when the accident happened.
