Guwahati: A mild earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale on Tuesday shook the Cachar region of Assam.

According to National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake struck at 6:44 AM at the depth of 10 km.


However, there were no reports of loss of lives or property.


The Northeast is one of the high seismic zones.


Last week, a powerful earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale hit Myanmar, tremors of which shook the northeast, several parts of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and even Delhi and NCR.
