Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and his wife have movable assets worth Rs 99,83,739, while BJP chief ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal, a bachelor,has movable assets worth Rs 70,44,919.

Gogoi, contesting for the fourth consecutive term from Titabor Assembly constituency as Congress chief ministerial candidate, has movable assets worth Rs 49,95,022, while his wife Dolly Gogoi's assets are worth Rs 49,88,717 with investments including bank deposits, insurance policies, postal savings, shares among others according to his affidavit filed during his nomination.


Sonowal, contesting from Majuli Assembly constituency, has movable assets worth Rs 70,44,919 which includes among others bank deposits worth more than Rs 12 lakh and shares in Oil India Limited of Rs 8,77,500, according to his affidavit.


The chief minister and his wife own immovable assets worth Rs 4,25,00,000 with property in Guwahati and New Delhi while the BJP aspirant has immovable assets worth Rs 1,15,00,000 with inherited and property received as gift in Dibrugarh and Guwahati respectively.


Both Gogoi and his wife own non-agricultural land in Borsojai area in Guwahati valued at Rs 75 lakh and his wife's at Rs 30 lakh.


The chief minister also owns land and a residential building in Beltola area of Guwahati valued at Rs 1,15,00,000 and a flat in Vasant Kunj area of New Delhi whose current market value is Rs 2,05, 00,000 .


Sonowal has inherited agricultural property in Dibrugarh whose current market value is Rs 30,00,000 and non-agricultural land in Jyotikuchi area of Guwahati worth Rs 30,00,000 and residential building on it with its current market value at Rs 55,00,000.


Gogoi and his wife have liabilities of Rs 16,20,397 and Rs 3,20,000 respectively, while Sonowal's liabilities are to the tune of Rs 2,92,000.


The chief minister has filed an income tax return of Rs 13,95,636 and his wife filed returns to the tune of Rs 43,779 for the year 2014-15, while Sonowal's income tax return for the assessment year 2015-16 was Rs 7,46,490.


Gogoi has Rs 2,10,181 while his wife has Rs 19,985 cash in hand and Sonowal has Rs 94,597 cash in hand.


The chief minister has no jewellery or valuables but his wife has jewellery worth Rs 27,02,930, while Sonowal owns 30 gm of gold worth Rs one lakh and household goods worth Rs 1,90,000.


Gogoi, his wife and Sonowal do not possess any vehicle of their own and they also have not been convicted or have any cases pending against them and not been accused of any offence punishable with imprisonment for two years or more.
