Guwahati: While India celebrates it 70th Independence Day on Monday, suspected ULFA-Independent militants explode bombs in various parts of Assam's Tinsukia district today.

The blast took place in various parts of Tinsukia district including one at Sivasagar area. As per the reports, the militants exploded four low intensity bombs in various parts of the city. 


However, nobody was injured in the explosion which took place early in the morning, media report said.


An improvised explosive devise (IED) exploded near Indira Gandhi School at Laipuli on the outskirts of district headquarters of Tinsukia town at 7.15 AM, the police said.


This was followed by another explosion in line no.6 of Badlabhata tea estate in Doomdooma area where the third IED was also set off at Masuwa locality, they said.


The fourth one exploded at Gamtumati in Philobari area where ULFA-I militants on August 12 night had shot dead two persons and injured six others in indiscriminate firing at Bahbon village.
