Patna: In a continuing drive against liquor consumption in Bihar, the Patna police on Wednesday arrested son of retired judge RP Singh and seized at least 30 bottles of foreign liquor from his possession.

Vinod Kumar, a property dealer by profession was arrested from his residence-cum-office at Boring Canal Road area in Patna yesterday night. 


Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Verma said they got news that Kumar sold liquor bottles from his office. 


Acting on a tip-off, police seized liquor bottles and conducted a raid at his office. 


"We found at least 30 bottles of foreign liquor hidden in a drawer at his office," Verma said. 


Kumar is also son-in-law of former Munger's Dhanraj Singh. 


Earlier during this year, the government notified the Bihar Prohibition and excise Act, 2016 to ensure that the ban on the sale and consumption of alochol, including Indian Made Foreign Liquor, as well spiced and domestic liquor, continued.
