Bihar`s topper scam: Hindustani Awam Morcha president arrested with blank answer sheets

Aurangabad: The special investigation team probing the intermediate toppers scam in Bihar on Wednesday arrested district unit president of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM)-Secular Ajay Kumar Singh along with 19 blank answer sheets.
The special investigation team (SIT), which came here from Patna, arrested Singh with the help of local police from his residence at Yodhanagar colony of Aurangabad district.
Confirming the arrest, deputy superintendent of police PN Sahu said the blank answer sheets had been siezed from the residence of Singh.
A car was also seized by police, Sahu said, adding the SIT took Singh to Patna for interrogation.
HAM (Secular) national spokesman Danish Rizwan, however, said that Singh was not the district unit chief of the party and the process to elect new president was currently on.
Over 20 persons, including the main accused Bachcha Rai, principal of the Bishun Rai College of Vaishaali from where state 'topper' Ruby Rai and other 'meritorious' students appeared for the exam.
Former BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh and his wife, ex-MLA Usha Sinha have so far been arrested in the case.
Ruby Rai was arrested by the SIT on June 25 soon after the re-test by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). She was granted bail on August 1.
SIT had on August 4 arrested inter science topper Rahul Kumar from Vaishali district.
