Patna: Bihar Police on Saturday said that two people have been detained in journalist Rajdev Ranjan's murder case.

"Two people have been detained in journalist Rajdev Ranjan's murder case. Interrogation is underway," Siwan SP was told ANI. 


Rajdev Ranjan, who was a senior journalist and has been writing for a long time against law-breakers of the area, was on Friday shot dead by unidentified gunmen. As per the reports, he was shot five times. 


Ranjan, 45, succumbed to his injuries while he was on the way to hospital.


Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Sah said that the motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.


The killing triggered a wave of protests by media persons in Bihar.
