Mumbai: As the initial trend reversed in Bihar vote count and it became more or less clear that the Grand Alliance of RJD, JD(U) and Congress will emerge victorious, Shiv Sena on Sunday tried to rub it into its ally BJP's wounds and said “this is a big win for Nitish Kumar”.

Nitish has “emerged as a political hero,” said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut.

“We congratulate Nitish Kumar, this result will be turning point in the country's political future,” Raut said further.

He called the results a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“When Congress loses then its Sonia ji's responsibility, similarly BJP must accept that Bihar results is Modi ji's responsibility.”

Shiv Sena is the junior partner in the BJP-led government in Maharashtra.
