Not done anything wrong, if party wants to take action, I can`t stop it: Shatrughan
The meeting comes after he publicly criticised his party shortcomings which led to his party`s defeat in Bihar.
Patna: A day after the NDA was routed in Bihar polls, veteran actor and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Monday stood by his remarks blaming senior party leaders for the devastating defeat and said that “If my party wants to take any action against me, I can't stop it”.
He also defended his decision to meet Nitish Kumar today at his residence and said that he went to meet Nitish to congratulate him on Mahagathbandhan's thumping win in the elections.
"If BJP wants to take action against me, I can't stop the party," he said. He also praised Nitish as one of the most successful chief ministers in the country after Jyoti Basu.
The meeting triggered speculation that he may be contemplating to quit his party in the light of his series of salvos against the senior members of the party over the past few weeks.
Monday's meeting comes a day after he publicly criticised his party shortcomings which he said led to the party's defeat in Bihar.
He called Nitish's election win "as victory of democracy" and also praised him as one of the most successful chief ministers in the country after Jyoti Basu.
On Sunday, the veteran actor slammed the BJP for ignoring him in Bihar polls, which he said had cost his party a humiliating defeat.
"You removed deserving people. You kept 'Bihari Babu' away from Bihar, even as he had predicted the writings on the wall," said Sinha.
“Accountability must be fixed by the party. I would request my party to introspect its shortcoming and take action,” Sinha said after the defeat.
Sinha met Kumar at latter's residence in Patna.
BJP's Arrah MP RK Singh had earlier criticised his party's unit in Bihar for denying tickets to right candidates in the polls.
"Popular sitting MLAs are denied tickets and criminals are being given the tickets. No wonder party workers are enraged in Bihar," Singh said.
The BJP today slammed the actor-politician and said that he does not have any role in the party's defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls.
