Rape accused RJD MLA still absconding; Bihar Police seize property
RJD MLA from Nawada, who is accused of raping a minor, continues to be on run as Bihar Police has failed to trace him.
Patna: RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav, who is accused of raping a minor at his residence in Nawada, continues to be on run to evade his arrest.
Meanwhile, at least 150 policemen arrived at the residence of Yadav on Sunday morning to forfeit his property. According to ANI reports, RJD party symbols were seized during property attachment drive today.
An order for the same was passed by a Patna court on Saturday. Soon after the order was passed, the police had surrounded Yadav's residence-cum-party office located at Pathra English locality under Muffasil police station of Nawada.
58-year-old Yadav has been accused of raping a minor at his residence-cum-party office on February 6.
An FIR was registered with Mahila police station in Nalanda in connection on February 9.
Raids have been conducted at many locations to arrest the Nawada RJD MLA after the complaint was registered against him.
On February 25, a woman named Sulekha Devi along with four others was arrested for allegedly escorting the minor girl to the lawmaker place at Pathra English locality of Bakhtiyapur in Patna district on the night of February 06, where she was subjected to sexual assault.
The accused women had lured the minor girl on the pretext of attending a birthday party and took her to the MLA's residence instead where the RJD MLA allegedly raped her.
Yadav, an RJD MLA from Nawada, who served as minister in Rabri Devi ministry in the past, has gone underground after his arrest order was issued by Deputy Inspector General of Police Shalin on Saturday last.
