The accusation against a lawmaker of the state's ruling JD(U)-RJD government comes a day after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar chaired a high-level meeting to take stock of the law and order situation in the state.

A 15-year-old girl filed a complaint against the RJD MLA from Nawada and accused him of kidnapping and raping her on February 6. The authorities have launched a probe into the case.

According to a report, the state's DIG has ordered the arrest of the MLA and an investigation is currently underway. "The statement of the girl has been taken under section 164 of IPC and an FIR in the case was lodged against Yadav with women police station, Nalanda, on February 9," confirming the reports Shalin Kumar said.

An ANI report said that raids were conducted on Saturday night at many locations to arrest Nawada RJD MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav after the complaint was registered against him. On Sunday morning, two member forensic team reached Nalanda to investigate the case.

Yadav won from Nawada seat on RJD ticket in the recent Bihar Assembly polls.
