As Kejriwal aims for Punjab victory, `missing` 1984 riots file puts AAP in a soup
A file on the constitution of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the 1984 anti-Sikh riots is reportedly missing.
New Delhi: At a time when the Aam Aadmi Party is preparing for the big battle to win Punjab in 2017, some embarrassment has come its way in the form of a missing file on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
A file on the constitution of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the 1984 anti-Sikh riots is missing since March 16, 2015, reports said Friday.
The report adds that Deputy Secretary (Home) Ashish Kumar sent a circular sent to all Delhi Government departments on January 8, 2016, requesting officers concerned to look into their respective departments for the file, and, if found, return it to the Home Department.
The current SIT (1984 riots) which was formed by Central Govt in 2015 is working properly and it has no connection with old SIT,” he said.
BJP's Sambit Patra said, “It is absolutely shocking to know that the file is missing and none cared where the file was?”
Patra said that it was Arvind Kejriwal's style of politics. “He only announces and do nothing about it...he has no time for Delhi, he is busy with national and international events...”
