New Delhi: Keeping in mind the 'Run for Unity' event to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rajpath on Saturday morning, Delhi traffic police advised commuters to avoid areas near the venue as major roads would be blocked.
"To facilitate smooth conduct of the function, Rajpath and Rafi Marg shall be closed for movement of traffic from 5.00 am to 9.30 am while Janpath and Man Singh Road will be closed between 7.00 am to 9.30 am," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Goel.
Motorists taking Vinay Marg, Shanti Path to go towards New Delhi and beyond may take the Sardar Patel Marg-Mother Teresa Crescent-R/A RML-Baba Kharak Singh Marg or Park Street-Mandir Marg route, said police.
Around 15,000 participants are expected to take part in the event on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
The participants will arrive in buses and cars, police added.
