Dentist`s murder: Know why this Delhi woman cop is being abused on Twitter

The brutal killing of a dentist in Delhi`s Vikaspuri area has sent chills down everyone`s spine. 42-year-old Pankaj Narang was mercilessly beaten to death over a trivial issue by a group of miscreants. However, even before the police had made the findings in the case public, some over-excited social media users decided to jump the gun and gave the incident a communal angle.

New Delhi: The brutal killing of a dentist in Delhi's Vikaspuri area has sent chills down everyone's spine. 42-year-old Pankaj Narang was mercilessly beaten to death over a trivial issue by a group of miscreants. However, even before the police could make the findings in the case public, some over-excited social media users decided to jump the gun and gave the incident a communal angle.

In an attempt to put an end  to such rumours, DCP Delhi Monika Bhardwaj took to Twitter and tried putting forth some details about the case.

“4 juveniles among 9 arrested for murder of Vikaspuri doctor. No religious angle at all, as rumoured by some. We appeal you to maintain peace,” she wrote.

“Out of 9 accused person 5 are Hindu. At the moment of first scuffle, out of two, one was Hindu. The Muslim accused are residents of UP, not Bangladesh,” she further added.

But, what happened next was misogynistic in nature.

Several Twitteratis did not hesitate from calling her names. Some even went on to compare her with a prostitute.
