"Dr Sapna Jain, working with Department of Mathematics, DU had accused several officials of university of having sexually harassed her. These allegations were not found to be true by the probe committee," said Abha Dev Habib, member of varsity's Executive Council (EC).

The officials named by Jain had also approached the authorities alleging that she has defamed them by making such allegations.

The allegations pertain to a four-year period and the inquiry committee was appointed in 2013.

"The enquiry, conducted by a retired Judge, examined the charges against Jain and concluded that she has not been taking classes assigned to her over a long period and has not been performing her official duties. Further, she repeatedly made unsubstantiated and defamatory allegations in her letters written to several government authorities," Habib said.

In a decision taken at the Executive Council meeting today, the professor will be served a show cause notice asking why her services should not be terminated on basis of the committee report, she added.
