Ghaziabad: Three alleged robbers were arrested while they were planning a heist in the Kaushambi area here, with the police claiming that they were members of a gang that used to target locked houses in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad. The accused are Suraj, Dharamveer and Sunny, residents of Indirapuram and all aged between 25 and 30, police said and added that they were wanted in several cases of loot.
A country-made pistol and two knives have been recovered from their possession, they said.
"We got a tip-off that some wanted robbers were planning to execute a robbery in Kausambi area late last night. Police laid a trap and arrested them. They have confessed to their involvement in a number of cases," said a police official. The accused used to identify locked houses in the day and target them in the night. Besides, police are interrogating them about their accomplices, who would be arrested soon, the official said.
The members of this gang used to commit crimes in Delhi-NCR, he added.
