New Delhi: In a suspected fall-out of a rift with their neighbour, a man was killed and his brother injured when armed assailants opened fire at them following a heated argument in north-east Delhi`s Nand Nagri area late last night, police said today.
The assailants struck when Mohammed Kayam (25) was standing in front of his house along with his elder brother Mohammed Imran (30).
"They were attacked by around four to five unidentified persons who fled the spot taking advantages of poorly-lit stretches," said the police.
Hearing the gunshots, several persons rushed to the spot and took the injured duo to nearby GTB (Guru Teg Bahadur) hospital where Kayam was declared brought dead. Imran is battling for his life. Police said the duo, who live with their family in Nand Nagri area, had a rift with one of their neighbours who is being suspected to have hatched the conspiracy. However, no one has been arrested. A case has been registered under sections 302 Murder among others at the Nand Nagri police station and two men, identified as Deepak and Vicky, have been arrested in this connection while efforts are on to apprehend the other accused.
