As per the the Delhi government's notification, the admission process will conclude on March 31.

The last date for submitting the application is January 22. The first list will be displayed on February 15 followed by another list on February 29.

The announcement in this regard was made by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Twitter yesterday.

Sisodia said that the schools will have to declare the admission criteria in a clear cut manner.

"Admission schedule for entry level classes for open seats in private schools issued today. Process to start on 1st Jan 2016. Schools have to declare admission criteria which shall be well defined, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent (sic)," Sisodia had tweeted.

"All the schools shall reserve 25% seats for EWS/DG category students. Process for these seats shall b announced separately," said another tweet by him.

To ensure transparency, the Education Minister said that the list uploaded by the schools will include names of applicants who have been admitted as well as those on the waiting list along with the marks given.

The Directorate of Education has also asked private, unaided recognized schools to not process the admission of the Economically Weaker Section/Disadvantaged Group category students manually since the department is in the process of developing a module for online admission under the category.

According to guidelines issued by DoE, all schools shall comply with the directive that the number of seats at entry-level shall not be less than the highest number of seats in the entry class during the years 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-2016.

"All the private unaided recognised schools shall upload the details of children who apply for admission under Open Seats and marks allotted to each of them by the schools under their point system, on the module developed by the department," it said.

"Further, the schools shall display the admission criteria (along with the points for each criterion) and total number of seats available at entry level classes on a flex board, prominently, at the entrance of the school and shall upload the compliance of the same in form of photograph on the directorate's website," it added.

DoE has also directed that the schools shall also publicise their admission criteria on their website, if available, also well in advance before the start of admission process for public view.

All schools are also supposed to follow the rules communicated by the department earlier including that on upper age limit, prospectus, processing fee, quantum of minimum seats at entry level and documents as valid proof of address.
