Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to make his first public appearance as the Tiger Ambassador of Maharashtra at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park ( SGNP) on Tuesday as part of Wildlife Week celebration.

Special arrangements have been made for the grand function, which will also be attended by Sudhir Mungantiwar, State minister for Finance, Planning and Forests, and other ministers.


Bachchan will also be inaugurating two new buses for the tiger and lion safari at SGNP.


Sources from forest department told mid-day that Bachchan might stay for a night at SGNP in Guest House number 1, where he will head to a nature trail in SGNP along with senior FD officials on Wednesday morning.


During this trail, he would be given information about the rich biodiversity of SGNP and the importance of this forest, which is a one- of- itskind urban forest, situated in the heart of the metropolis.


On August 11, 2015, the superstar was appointed as ambassador for Maharashtra’s ‘Save the Tiger’ campaign.


Wildlife Week is celebrated all over the country from October 2-8 every year with the view to preserve the fauna.
