To boost its image, BSEB approves proposals for setting up regional offices

Patna: With a view to transforming the Bihar School Examination Board's image as part of the education department's operation clean, the board's governing body has approved various proposals in order to streamline its functioning.

"We will construct multi-purpose buildings in all the nine commissinaries of the state. The examination centres will be equipped with CCTV facility besides the arrangements of webcasting during the examinations. Each exam centre can accomdate 4000 to 5000 students. It will be easier to keep a tab during the examination," BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore told PTI.
These buildings will also serve as evaluation centre where no one from outside, unlike the college centres, will be allowed to enter the premises, he said adding that these buildings would be used as 'strong room' for keeping answer sheets after the examination.
The decisions were taken at yesterday's governing body meeting, he said.
The Board would construct five storeyed buildings at Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya and Darbhanga while it would be four storeyed building at Saharsa, Purnea, Saran and Munger with each floor having 10,000 square feet of space, chairman said.
One of the floors of the building would house 'regional office' of the Board, Kishore said.
Asked how much time it would take to get regional office operational, he said that it would take two years time for completion of buildings for which tendering process is expected to start in August.
