The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) which conducts secondary examination, also known as Madhyamik Pariksha, in the state has announced the dates for the examination for the current academic year.

Starting from February 01, the exams will end on March 05, 2016. 


First language subjects: Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurmukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Santali.


Second language subjects: English, if any language other than English is offered as first language or Bengali or Nepali, if English is the first language.

Geography: Feb 3, 2016


History: Feb 5, 2016 


Physical Science: Feb 6, 2016


Mathematics: Feb 8, 2016


Life Science: Feb 9, 2016


Optional Elective Subjects: Feb 10, 2016


Physical Education and Social Service: Feb 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25, 2016


Work Education: March 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2016


Starting from 11.45 am to 3 pm, only one examination will be held in a day. First 15 minutes are only for reading the question paper.    


Examination in shorthand and typewriting will be held at Kolkata and Siliguri only.
