According to reports, Swedish police officer Mikaela Kellner was off duty and enjoying her day out in a bikini when she noticed a suspected thief and jumped on to pounce him.

At the time of the incident, Kellner was sunbathing in a bikini with her three friends in a Stockholm park when a homeless man selling newspapers approached them.

After he left, one of her friends noticed that her phone was missing. Realising that the newspaper seller could be a suspected thief, Kellner and a fellow police officer chased the man and caught him with a little effort.

A photo of Kellner pinning the suspect to the ground became viral on social media in Sweden this week.

Reacting to it, Kellner wrote on Instagram, “My first intervention while wearing a bikini during my 11 years as a police officer.”

Talking to a local daily, Kellner said she didn’t hesitate to make the arrest while wearing a bikini.

“If I had been naked, I would have intervened as well,” she said.
