As per reports, the staff at the Sola Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, danced and performed garba while loud music was playing in the background in utter disregard of hospital rules.

All this happened shortly after Gujarat Finance, Medical Education, and Health and Family Welfare Minister Nitinbhai Patel visited the hospital and inaugurated a new dialysis centre.

While excitement during the ongoing Navratri festival is justified, but the music and dance celebration happening inside the hospital, that too in ICU ward in front of ailing patients, has left everyone shocked.

The incident also brought to fore the sheer negligence of the hospital staff - they were seen dancing inside the ICU ward with shoes and slippers on which are otherwise prohibited.

Reacting to the development, HK Bhawsar, medical superintendent of the hospital, told ANI that no 'garba' event had been planned for the inaugural function.

“Some nurses, servants and patients performed 'garba' after inauguration was over. We stopped them as soon as we got to know about it,” Bhawsar said.

“This shouldn't have happened. We are sending notices to all those who were present,” he added.
