China makes world's first 3D blood vessel bio-printer


A Chinese biotechnological company announced that it has developed the world's first 3D blood vessel bio-printer, which makes it possible to produce personalised functional organs, the media reported on Monday.


Sichuan Revotek Co. Ltd., based in Chengdu, on Sunday said the significant breakthrough has been achieved through its self-developed stem cell bio-ink technology, 3D bio-printer and cloud computing platform

UK approves first 10 womb transplants


As a part of a clinical trial, UK’s first womb transplant is set to take place next year in which 10 women will get the chance to carry their own babies.


The first UK baby from a womb transplant could be born in late 2017 or early 2018 if this clinical trial is successful.

Found: A drug to treat baldness!


In a significant discovery, researchers have identified new drugs that might work as creams to stimulate hair growth and treat baldness.


As per researchers,some specialized drugs that inhibit the Janus kinase (JAK) family of enzymes can actually help hair grow. The research certainly raises hopes of cure for baldness.

Chinese, Italian doctors plan world's first head transplant


Chinese and Italian transplant specialists are planning to conduct the world's first human head transplant surgery on a Russian computer scientist. It is being touted as a breakthrough as it would change the course of human history by curing incurable medical conditions.


Italian Sergio Canavero will partner with Chinese surgeon Ren Xiaoping at a hospital affiliated to Harbin Medical University to carry out the operation.

Texas conjoined twins separated in 'first-of-its-kind' 26-hour surgery


Conjoined twins Knatalye Hope and Adeline Faith Mata were successfully separated in a surgery that took a marathon more than 24 hours conducted at Texas children’s hospital in Houston.


Doctors successfully separated the 10-month old girls born conjoined on February 17, 2015 with the help of a surgical team of 12 surgeons, six anesthesiologists and eight nurses.
