Normal life was affected in Bihar with cold wave sweeping the state even as the temperature rose on Saturday, met office sources said.
The worst affected was Gaya, where the mercury plummeted to five degrees celsius on Sunday, the sources said.

People preferred to stay indoors and train services and vehicular traffic were hit by bad weather conditions. Many trains were reported to be running behind schedule.
Flights were also affected due to foggy weather condition. The cold wave condition is likely to deteriorate within a day or two in the state when the winds move further eastward, the sources said.
Meanwhile, the rise in temperature in Bihar on Monday was from 8.8 degrees celsius to 12.5 degrees celsius was due to the movement of western disturbance from Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh to Bihar plains and parts of Uttar Pradesh.
