Son of the longest-serving Himachal Pradesh chief minister, the pressure to replicate the success of Virbhadra Singh must be on Vikramaditya Singh. Little wonder then that he has been campaigning strongly in Shimla Rural from where he would be contesting in the upcoming Himachal Pradesh elections.

His supporters claim that there is much more to Vikramaditya than the fact that he is the son of the current CM. And that he is the second-richest candidate in the elections with declared assets of over Rs 84 crores.

Expectations from him are high as Virbhadra Singh vacated the Shimla Rural constituency from where he had won by 20,000 votes in 2012. While the veteran will be contesting from the Arki constituency, Vikramaditya will now make his electoral debut from his father's stronghold.

At 28, he is also one of the youngest candidates and has an MA degree from St. Stephen's College in Delhi. Vikramaditya will take on BJP's Pramod Sharma.
