Shimla: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday relaxed norms for tourist hot spots in Himachal Pradesh - Rohtang Pass and Manali.

While the NGT increased number of petrol vehicles from 600 to 800 going to Rohtang every day, it refused to raise the number of diesel vehicles.


The green tribunal also allowed tourism activities in the Rohtang Pass and permitted paragliding and snow scooters in limited number.


Currently, total of only 500 petrol and CNG vehicles are allowed to go up to Rohtang every day.


Earlier, the NGT had imposed a complete ban on commercial activities including paragliding, snow scooter ride and horse-riding at Rohtang Pass and its adjoining areas.
