The girl was being treated at the hospital for fever and other health problems, the man and his family members told mediapersons at the medical facility.

They claimed an insect was found in a saline bottle administered to her during treatment in the hospital.

When contacted, hospital superintendent Venkateswara Reddy said the girl has been suffering from a rare brain- related problem and that she underwent treatment at several hospitals earlier.

Noting that there was no sudden deterioration in her condition, he said due precautions are taken by the hospital staff in providing medical care to patients.

The girl's father went out along with the bottle and did not approach him on the issue, Reddy claimed, adding the hospital staff are being asked about the matter.
