Lucknow: Modi-baiter, Uttar Pradesh Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has said that he wants to become the Prime Minister and deserves to hold the post.

Khan, who has been consistently vocal in his criticism of PM Narendra Modi, on Tuesday asserted, “I aspire to be the Prime Minister and I'm the fittest person to hold the post.”


Stressing on his remarks, the SP leader said, “Modi should resign and the Parliament should elect me the PM, then everybody will see how this nation progresses.”

Speaking to mediapersons, the UP Cabinet minister claimed that Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav will support his candidature for the top post.


“When the time comes, Mulayam Singh will propose my name," he said.


When further asked whether he doesn't want the SP chief to be the prime minister, Khan reiterated that Mulayam will propose his name.

When the reporters reminded the powerful UP leader of CM Akhielsh Yadav's statement that an alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress is possible at the Centre if Mulayam is made the prime ministerial candidate and Rahul Gandhi his deputy, Khan said, "I am speaking for myself”.
