Last Sunday, a c pilot reported on landing at London's super busy Heathrow Airport that the aircraft was hit by a drone while it was on its final approach towards the runway.

132 passengers and 5 crew members were onboard the BA flight – A320 - from Geneva, Switzerland.

The aircraft was examined by BA engineers before it was cleared to operate its next flight.

The incident has once again brought to focus the security risk posed by drones flown by amateurs.

Recently, the IGI Airport in Delhi and Chatrapati Shivaji Aiport in Mumbai had also faced similar threats by unknown flying objects.
