Anna Hazare receives threat letter

Sikar: Social activist Anna Hazare today received an anonymous threat letter here following which his security has been enhanced as a precautionary measure, police said.

A senior police official said that an unidentified person allegedly dropped the said letter outside the place where he is staying here.

Additional SP (Sikar) Prakash Kumar said that a Hazare supporter informed police that a man riding a scooter had dropped the letter containing the alleged threat.

"The alleged letter tells Hazare that he should not have come to Sikar. The matter is being probed. This might be mischief also," said Kumar, who added that the social activist's security has, meanwhile, been stepped up.

Hazare is scheduled to address a rally in the city tomorrow.
