PM Modi hailed Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for the poor-friendly general budget.
Rural infrastructure
Explaining how this budget will play a key role in improving lives of people in rural India, PM Modi said this budget clearly calls for electrifying all villages thus giving an impetus to rural infrastructure.
The budget reflects our commitment to electrify villages by 2018, he added.
Housing sector
PM Modi citing his 'Housing for All' commitment said that through this budget housing sector will be strengthened.
Health sector
Highlighting the initiatives taken by the NDA government, PM Modi said, "In the health sector the government has taken many initiatives. We want to stand shoulder to shoulder with people in times of illness."
Employment/entrepreneurship for youths
Emphasising the role of 'Start up India' initiative of his NDA government, PM Modi said, "Our youth, especially the Dalit and Tribal youngsters want to be job creators and not job seekers."
Education sector
PM Modi said that for his government primary education is very important. "A qualitative transformation of the education sector is what we are giving priority to," the PM said.
