New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday extended interim protection for Teesta Setalvad and her husband Javed Anand from arrest till March 18 in cases of alleged misuse of funds.

However, the Supreme Court also issued a warning to the husband-wife couple, asking them to cooperate in the probe otherwise be ready for arrest.


Teesta and Anand are facing a case registered by the Gujarat police for allegedly embezzlement of funds for a museum in memory of the destruction of Ahmedabad's Gulbarg Society by a mob in the 2002 riots and also for violations of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act..


The Supreme Court has granted them protection from arrest in connection with the above mentioned cases.
